In Greene County district court Cody Allen Gray, 18, of Winterset was sentenced Dec. 15 to 180 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment- first degree. The jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. He must pay an amount not to exceed $500 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $253.46 court costs. Two counts of harassment were dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. Sean Christian Schlueter, 28, of Clarinda was sentenced to 30 days in jail after he pleaded guilty at arraignment to a charge of operating while intoxicated. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must also complete a drinking drivers course. He was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. Travis R. Dawson, 28, of Jefferson was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with all but two days suspended, after he pleaded guilty at arraignment to a charge of OWI. All but two days of the sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for one year. He may complete the Des Moines Area Community College 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of the jail time. He must complete a community college drinking drivers school. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Dawson was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary suspended license. Joshua James Parrish, 27, of Jefferson was sentenced Dec. 4 to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of criminal mischief- third degree. The prison term was suspended. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. Parrish was sentenced to 180 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. All but 14 days of the jail term was suspended. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail with all but 14 days suspended on a charge of assault causing injury or mental illness. The jail terms are consecutive, and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge on the assault charge. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Jason Harold Ferguson, 47, of Stratford, operate without owner’s consent; Jonathan O’Neil Jones, 36, of Cypress, TX, burglary- third degree motor vehicle, theft- second degree, and ongoing criminal conduct- influence enterprise; Viatcheslav Zakjevskii, 40, of Ames, OWI; Rebecca Jo Schubert, 40, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- three counts and delivery of marijuana- two counts; and Robert Donald Pool 29, of Glidden, eluding- speed more than 25 mph over limit, possession of methamphetamine, and person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons. A trial date was set for Jan. 30 for Jones and for March 5 for Ferguson, Zakjevskii, Schubert, and Pool.
A case was initiated Dec. 13 against Conner Laine Groves, 26, of Jefferson on a charge of OWI.
